Interim Executive Director for CCSD’s Elementary Learning Community Shawntay White

She has led Buist Academy for Advanced Studies since 2012 and has served in CCSD leadership for nearly two decades. Under her guidance, Buist earned multiple national honors, including two National Blue Ribbon School awards and top rankings from U.S. News & World Report.

Throughout her tenure, White expanded academic offerings, championed inclusive access, and introduced innovative programs in STEM, language, and student support. She also guided Buist through major transitions, including a building move, a program restructure, and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, all while maintaining the school’s tradition of academic excellence.

In her new role, White will support principals and school teams across CCSD’s elementary schools, focusing on leadership development, instructional growth, and student success. CCSD extends sincere thanks to Shawntay White for her years of service to Buist Academy and looks forward to her continued leadership at the district level.
