Interim Executive Director of the Elementary Learning Community Leanne Sheppard

A veteran educator and administrator with more than three decades of experience in Charleston County School District, Sheppard has served students, families, and schools in a variety of leadership roles spanning the classroom, school administration, and district leadership. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for building systems that support student success, strengthening school operations, and developing collaborative partnerships.

Before transitioning to district leadership, Sheppard served as principal of Pinckney Elementary School after beginning her career as an elementary classroom teacher. She also served as principal of East Cooper Summer School and has held leadership roles supporting curriculum, school improvement, and instructional programming throughout her career. Sheppard earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the College of Charleston and a Master of Education in School Administration from The Citadel.
